This park does tend to get a little muddy after it’s rained, but if you are fine with your pup getting a little dirty then it’s great. A nearby stop at Bailey Park is the perfect place to cool down with some shade and water stations. If you’re looking for a walk with a bit more of a city vibe, Long Branch Trail is for you! This paved trail covers 1.6 miles and winds its way through downtown Winston Salem and Innovation Quarter. Trees inside the enclosures offer a welcome respite from the heat, and pet parents will be thankful that there is a shelter with a restroom (rather than a portapotty) close by! Jamison is located just off of the Muddy Creek Greenway, so you can leash back up and continue the fun if playmates go home for the day. It is just a bit smaller than Tanglewoof. This dog park is split into small dog and large dog enclosures and includes water and waste stations. Jamison Dog Park is located between Robinhood Road and Country Club Road. Miller Park also features multiple covered shelters, making it a great place to take a breather, retreat from a random burst of rain, or set up a picnic! While the park may seem small, its system of paved trails wind and loop through woods and a creek, giving you both the perfect amount of shade. Miller Park is located close to the Ardmore neighborhood and the Thruway Shopping Center and is just off the highway. Emma Miller: Ansley Blackstock’s Biscuit Miller Park If you plan to do the entire loop! Just a few minutes outside of Winston Salem, this trail is perfect for those scorching hot summer days when the pavement is just too hot for your dog’s sensitive paws. Let your dog cool off in one of the side streams that flows into the lake, but take plenty of water for both of you. This 7-mile gravel trail is a perfect day hike with plenty of shade and an abundance of wildlife. Be sure to check the opening/closing schedule on the park’s website before heading out! Benches line the fence in the shade for pup parents, and a big tree in the middle of the small dog enclosure provides shade for our pint-sized friends. Tanglewoof is a great place to invite friends and their pooches to hang out! This dog park has separate enclosures for big dogs and little dogs, and both enclosures feature a water station and several waste stations. While you’re there, you can give your dog some off-leash playtime at the Tanglewoof Dog Park (see below)!Ĥ061 Clemmons Rd – located across from the RV Campground Woods, water features, and even farm animals make this an entertaining route. This 2.2-mile loop trail is nicely paved, making it perfect for an early morning or evening jog with your pup! Tanglewood is a quick drive outside of Winston Salem in nearby Clemmons. Leashed dogs are welcome everywhere in Reynolda Village except in the Formal Gardens! Kathy Eibler: Katie Siler’s Poppy Tanglewood Park Multi-Use Trail Don’t skip the waterfall, located along the Reynolda Village Trail. Stretch your legs and lace up your sneakers! Reynolda’s grounds have more than two miles of trails, wetlands, paved pathways, thick woodlands, and an expansive meadow.
